Adhuri Khwahishein by Bhakti Motta

"Adhuri khwahishein" is a book of poems by author Bhakti Motta, a budding writer, and a photographer as well. The book is published on Amazon Kindle in E-book format.

The book contains about 20 poems, that talk about different phases and emotions in one's life. From poems to relish one's childhood and family bonding, to poems which display the harsh realities of life. Bhakti Motta has bound all this in her 20 poems book, for us to pick one each time in our moments of apathy providing solace thereafter.

Here, through the snippets, I am exclusively showcasing a few lines from the poems in the book itself.

Bachpan ka zikr hota hai jab, nani ka ghar yaad aata hai.......Har roz ladte the, Har roz manaya karte the, Ek dusre ko himmat, dilasa diya karte the, Bachpan ke woh din bhi kitne masoom hua karte the, jab hum bhai bahan apas mein has aur ro liya karte the.
-Bhakti Motta

She has also depicted the current Covid-19 situation through her poems. While reading the poems I came across lines where the writer has said her mind & heart out, she is not one to back out and fear as to what people will think and say about her opinions and what she feels. She laid out her thoughts bare. I am always appreciative & love, when people are free-spirited and that's what the poems depict.

Main kitni baar hoon girti,
Fir bhi uth khadi ho jati hoon.

Kyun nahi yeh duniya sunti?
Kyun nahi dekhti?
Kyun nahi sunte yeh meri siskiyan?
Kyun nahi mere gaal sehlate?

Agar kehna hi hai logo ko,
Kyun nahi achchi batein kehte hain log?
kyun nahi meri muskurahat ki tarif karte yeh log?
kyun nahi mera aasmaan bante hai log?
Kyun nahi mujhe pankh dete hain yeh log?
kyun nahi mera sath dete hai yeh log?
Kyun nahi?
Kyun nahi?
Kyun nahi?
-From "log kya kahenge?"

Har khwaish jo puri hui,
Do pal ki khushi de gayi,
Har Khwahish jo adhuri Rahi,
Zindagi bhar ka sabak sikha gayi.

Bas yahi hai zindagi ka saar.

Adhuri Khwahishein is a collection of poems that talk about unfulfilled desires, heartbreak, bridges burnt, self-love, childhood, and so much more. Every poem in this collection will touch your heart. Some will make you sad, some will give you joy, but most importantly they will all give you hope. Individually they stand on their own, collectively they weave a story.

An exclusive content from the book itself

I would like to thank the author here. She is a warm-hearted person to have a conversation with, also she was kind enough to let me use her poems & content from the book for this review, which has been helpful to a great extent.

My Rating: 3.75/5

The e-book is available in Hindi and Hinglish language format. My review is based on the Hinglish format. The language of the book is simple and lucid and can be understood easily even by people having a basic knowledge of the language format. The romantic poems in the book are my favorites. The cover design of the book is also by Bhakti Motta from one of her shots.
